Andrew Paul is a former U.S. Navy SEAL officer, combat veteran, business leader, and leadership instructor with Echelon Front, who learned to lead on the battlefield where Extreme Ownership was forged.
Andrew commissioned as a Navy SEAL officer in 2001, graduating from training alongside Echelon Front co-founder Leif Babin. He served multiple combat deployments to Iraq, including as the Officer in Charge of a Naval Special Warfare special boat team detachment and as assistant platoon commander of Delta Platoon, Task Unit Bruiser in 2006.
During the 2006 Battle of Ramadi, Andrew served directly under Jocko Willink and alongside Leif Babin in one of the Iraq War’s most intense urban combat zones. Their mentorship taught him that effective leaders take ownership and follow the Laws of Combat, especially under pressure. These Extreme Ownership lessons shaped his leadership as he saw firsthand both the consequences of their absence and the outcome of their successful application.
After leaving active duty in 2007, Andrew carried those lessons into the business world, building a successful mortgage business and developing expertise across sales, operations, and management over 13 years in the private sector.
As a leadership instructor at Echelon Front, Andrew works with companies and leaders across industries, levels, and growth stages. His approach is direct, practical, and grounded in real examples, helping leaders translate principles into immediate actions that drive ownership and measurable results.
Andrew is the recipient of a Bronze Star Medal w/ “V” and an Army Commendation Medal w/ “V”. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Vanderbilt University. Outside of work, he is committed to endurance athletics, ultra-distance running, and spending time with his family.
