Upon enlisting in the Marine Corps infantry, he served as a ground combat leader and advanced through the ranks while holding multiple leadership positions. He deployed a handful of times to Southeast Asia, Israel, and Benghazi, Libya, specifically in response to Ambassador Chris Stevens’ death in 2012. During these experiences, Codey saw firsthand that leadership was the critical factor determining a team's success or failure. He dedicated himself to making a lasting impression on his Marines by devising innovative ways to train, mentor, and prepare them for the challenges they would inevitably face during deployment.
After leaving the Marine Corps in 2015, Codey brought his leadership experience to the forefront at Echelon Front. Initially, he helped support the development and execution of the Field Training Exercise (FTX) program alongside JP Dinnell. This program immerses participants in high-stress, simulated environments to teach and reinforce leadership principles in a unique and challenging way. Codey also supports Echelon Front’s First Responder Training initiatives, delivering tailored leadership solutions to public safety organizations nationwide. He currently serves as Director of Experiential Training, leadership instructor, speaker, and strategic advisor at Echelon Front.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Codey is a dedicated husband and father of four young children. He views parenting as his most critical leadership role and strives to apply the same principles of discipline, humility, and ownership at home as he does in his professional life.
