Synopsis: The Power of Extreme Ownership, Especially On The Home Front
One of the most challenging relationships to implement Extreme Ownership can be with family or friends. Even though the core concepts of Extreme Ownership are simple, they are not easy, especially with those we're closest to.
Relationships with spouses, siblings, parents, or children make it difficult to detach. When we're frustrated with intimate relationships, detaching becomes more critical. When they don't react as we think they should, that's when Extreme Ownership shows its power. These individuals are most important to us. Shouldn't we use all the skills at our disposal?
Once we detach, we can take a long-term strategic view. What's the mission/goal? We can't change the other person, but we can change our approach to the situation.
By detaching, taking ownership, and taking a long-term, strategic view of our relationship, we create new opportunities to grow and develop. Our relationships will begin to improve, and we can continue on the path.
